Sheena Easton: Guilty Pleasure 80′s Songs

Sheena Easton

I still think one of the greatest female singers of the 80′s is Sheena Easton. There are so many great songs that you don’t hear as much anymore, and I love some of these “guilty pleasures.”

Here are Nick Robert’s Sheena Easton top 5 picks that you might enjoy.

1) For Your Eyes Only: The title track to the James Bond movie of the same name. Was there anything cooler than Roger Moore as James Bond? The song was written by Bill Conti who also penned the famous tracks from the Rocky movies.

2) Modern Girl: This was Sheena’s first top 40 hit in America. It wasn’t as big of a hit as Morning Train, but has alot of fun to it.

3) You Could Have Been With Me: This is a great record. It was relegated to the adult contemporary stations at the time and it really highlights the range of her voice. Stellar song!

4) Almost Over You: Released in 1983, this also was a bigger Adult Contemporary hit than it was top 40 - but still one of her finest.

5) Strut: This was the hit that brought her back to 80′s vibe and MTV top 40 sound. New production, new image and new attitude makes this hit a turning point in her career and re-energized her fans.
